I've been rushing to try to get my
entire page up. I apologize if it still looks incomplete in areas.
It is! Not for too much longer, though. Please bear with me! School
takes up most of my spare time, leaving little left over to toy with my
"fun site."
Hockey season is over, both for me and for my NHL team, the
Red Wings. My team was knocked out of the playoffs in the second round,
after a great season-end run. We were riding an 8 game winning streak, the
longest in the league. Unfortunately, between the first round playoff game
and the second, I injured my knee scrimmaging with the class I teach.
Though I thought I'd recovered enough to play OK, I quickly found I couldn't
stop much, and by the game's end I knew full well I shouldn't have been out
there. We ended up losing 7-2, but that's probably just as well.
That way I won't be tempted to play again too soon. :P My Red Wings
followed suit, dropping four games in a row to the Kings after going up 2-0 in
the series. I guess the same goes for them, though: Yzerman was out with a
leg problem, Shanahan with a broken foot, Chelios (though he returned) was not
100% with a thumb injury, etc. Now they'll have a long summer to rest up
and recover. It might take that long for their pride to recover after
being rubbed out by the L.A. Kings in the first round! Ah, well, I love 'em
anyway.
